Ken Forsch vs Floyd Bannister
Angels 2, Mariners 1
A scoreless pitchers duel lasted until Bobby Grich led off the 6th with a solo blast. The M's answered right back in the bottom of the inning when Tom Paciorek doubled home Jim Anderson. With 2nd and 3rd and only 1 out the M's failed to push across another run, which would come back to haunt them dearly as Larry Harlow singled home Butch Hobson the following inning. Hobson's run made the score 2-1, which would be more than enough for Forsch as he went the distance. Bannister went only 5 and fanned 7, but ran out of gas early. Parrott went the final 4 and gave up both Angel runs.

Geoff Zahn vs Jerry Don Gleaton
Angels 11, Mariners 4
Jerry Don should probably change his name from Gleaton to Beaten after his pittful performance today. Giving up 9 runs in less than 6 innings worth of work is a sure fire way to get yourself taken out of the rotation. California's top 3 hitters combined for 6 hits, 3 runs and 5 RBI's. Veteran utility man Bert "Campy" Campaneris was the shining star on offense with a 2 for 2 day where he knocked in 3, scored 2 and even hit a homer.

Mike Wit vs Glenn Abbott
Angels 7, Mariners 2
The Angel formula today would be 6 innings of 1 hit / 7 strike out ball from Witt plus 3 innings of solid relief. The Halos got to Abbott early and often. Rod Carew had a Hall of Famer caliber day in the lead off spot going 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored and a walk. Brian Downing knocked in 3 while going 2 for 5. Rick Burleson and Dan Ford also had 2 hit days. Tom Paciorek had the only homer on the day to account for 1 of Seattle's 2 runs.
